
INTERVIEW QUESTIONS

The following are the questions that are asked during Zoom Interviews:
- What inspired you to start learning ballet or other art forms ?
- At what age did you start learning ballet ?
- Who was or were your teachers/s ?
- What inspired you to launch yourself in pursuing ballet ?
- Was there someone in your family who encouraged you to do ballet ?
or
- Have you been reading ballet books and maybe some photographs of famous dancers encouraged or inspired you to undertake this new life?
- How did you feel when you made your very first ballet class?
- Just explain the feeling you had before and after ?
- What were the difficulties that you encountered during classes ?
- How were your teachers ?
- How many years did you dance in a ballet school before becoming a professional dancer or artist ?
- In which ballet company did you start ?
- Did you made ballet audition in the ballet studio or on stage?
- Have you danced on a (Studio/Stage) raked floor or flat floor ?
- Just explain the difference that you felt while you were doing your training or Rehearsals or Performances with the two type of floors
- Did you participate to an audition ? or Competition? or Grand Prix?
- What about injuries? Did you had any ? while doing Class, or during Rehearsals or while Performing on Stage? In case, yes just describe.
- Do you prefer Ballet with no plot stories or with a story as Romeo & Juliet or other?
- Do you think that giving a dancer to do some Postural Gym or something mixed with Yoga and Floor Barre would help dancers to have better control of their bodies ?
- How was your feeling when teachers or choreographers were telling you or addressing you, or correcting you during class or rehearsals ?
- At what age did you decide to teach ?
- Or work into another artistic branch or other dance style ?
- Do you think that ballet has evolved in a good or wrong way. in the last 4 decades?
- Do you think that technique in our modern days is adequate to prevent injuries or put dancers in major risk ?
- Do you think that today's new full-length ballet should be necessary ?
- What do you think about contemporary work in a classical ballet company ?
- Do you think that new composers like Minkus, Tchaikovsky, or Prokofiev are essential to improve ballet technique in our modern days ?
- What was your personal feeling about launching yourself in front of the audience ?
- What would your future dreams be to involve young ballet dancers in new Choreography or works ?
- If you are a Ballet Master or Freelance Teacher or Choreographer, how do you find your way into setting or give your class, or you are just launching yourself spontaneously how it goes during class ?
- Any future projects of your own, if possible, and if you want, you may outline it.
- On what basis do you judge or analyse the talent of young dancers during auditions, competitions or exams ?
- As Member of Jury during exams or ballet competitions or Grand Prix, have you ever experienced the feeling that final result scores could be unfair, or affect some talented dancers?
-As a ballet teacher do you set your class Barre & Center combination or enchainement exercises before or you just go on the spot by improvisation ?
- As a ballet teacher do you often look and base your class length upon the clock watch time or you often might exceed on time and keep working and polishing the movements until dancers get perfection?
- As a teacher how do you behave when you notice dancers who start talking during classes, or wearing watches on the wrist during Pas De Deux work , or not wearing regular dress code leotard ?
- As a Teacher, Choreographer or Repetiteur , when a dancer tells you:
I am not feeling in a good shape or I am not feeling well today how do you react ?
- What is your wish for the younger generation of dancers ?
- What is your personal message that comes from your heart to Ballet International members and audience on Youtube to preserve the performing arts ?
- To young dancers who are listening to you could you give them a few words of hope and encouragement ?
- Do you agree or disagree that your Interview to be broadcasted on Ballet International Youtube Channel ?
- Then we end up with the usual conclusion as in every interview.
NB: During the interview the only topic referred IS ballet, or dance, or performing arts, NO other topics are mentioned and permitted.
During interviews, the atmosphere must be familiar, and relaxed, it is not a test or to make artists look flashy, just to be natural and exchange at the best different opinions.
