CATHERINE BURNETT

Catherine Burnett was a celebrated South African ballerina, known for her luminous performances in classical ballet roles such as Odette-Odile in *Swan Lake*, Aurora in *The Sleeping Beauty*, and Juliet in *Romeo and Juliet*. She was particularly admired for her interpretations of George Balanchine's works, including *Agon* and *Rubies*.
Burnett retired at the peak of her career in 1991 and sadly passed away in 2009 after a battle with cancer.
